Search Marketing heeft Google bakzeil moeten halen. Yahoo! had in december 2004 al een schikking getroffen met GEICO. <\/p>\n<p>De kwestie was dat de handelsnamen van GEICO werden gebruikt in campagnes door concurrenten. GEICO spande vervolgens een rechtzaak aan tegen Google en Yahoo!. Google voelde zich sterk door eerdere overwinningen in gelijksoortige zaken, maar moest in dit geval het verlies dragen.<\/p>\n<p>De uitspraak is nog geen veroordeling. De rechter geeft beide partijen 30 dagen de tijd om tot een overeenkomst te komen. Mocht dit niet lukken, dan zal de juridische procedure verder gaan rondom de vraag wie is verantwoordelijk: de adverteerder of degene die advertentieruimte aanbiedt?
