Deze toename is gemeten gedurende de periode augustus 2005 tot januari 2006. Het aantal impressies lag bij Google gemiddeld twee keer zo hoog als bij Yahoo, maar Yahoo is bezig met een sterke opmars. Google vertoonde 41,1 miljard sponsored listings in deze periode, terwijl Yahoo 23,2 miljard vertoningen had.<\/p>\n<p>De totaal aantal zoekacties is ook toegenomen. In de periode december 2004 tot december 2005 is de groei 55% geweest, aldus een ander onderzoek van Nielsen\/Netratings. Hiervan was Google de sterkste groeier met maar liefst 75% (Yahoo 53% en MSN 20%). Echter omdat de 16% impressie groei alleen op Yahoo en Google slaat, en MSN niet wordt meegenomen zijn deze gegevens weer enigszins vertekend.
