In een interview met Bill Gates verklaarde Gates dat MSN Search op gelijk niveau is als Google, dan wel Google voorbij zal streven. Gates noemde Google ‘The coolest company right now’. Hij verklaarde echter dat Google nog wel een verrassing zal krijgen: “I think we’ll surprise them by showing how we can do a search that’s as good or better than they do. Consumers benefit from that type of competition.”
